105-TEN in Briarcliff Manor

Briarcliff’s zip code is 10510 and the namesake of the 105-TEN Bar & Grill. 

Now, don’t let the name fool you, 105TEN Bar and Grill is a restaurant with a large bar and not a place I would normally have referred to as a “bar & grill.”  

105TEN has bar fare such as burgers and wings but also has some intereting versions of what some might call a more Soho or “FooFoo menu.”  To me that means there are a lot of dishes with avacado or truffle oil, etc. 

I wouldn’t consider the place upscale because of the bar and TV’s displaying the big games of the night.  There are four large TV’s to watch “the game” on.  They also run pools for the big games.  It’s not a “sports bar” but you will be able to watch your game. The big games will attract a crowd that might be a bit loud for a family dinner.

The food is quite good. On this visit, I enjoyed a couple of Lagunitas’ Lil Sumpin’s along with a Buffalo Chicken Wrap where I substituted the fried chicken for grilled. Service is fast and most items are served on cutting boards which is kind of cool. It adds to the rustic/industrial feel of the place.

They have a nice selection of specialty drinks with some interesting suggestions.  There are a small number of taps but with some good options, even their own “105TEN Amber Ale” which is on the malty side which is my preference over strong IPA’s.  They have the usual accompaniment of bottles including Captain Lawrence varieties.

Families are certainly welcome. There is also a tented outdoor seating area. On occasion, you might find a musician playing in the tent. I sat for dinner in the tent one night and it was not a great experience. They heated the tent with what sounded like a jet engine that had a slight gas (probably propane) smell. The combination didn’t help our meal. Personally I will avoid the tent until the Spring.

The place is very clean and the staff very accommodating. Your best bartender is Robbie. He’s the only one who’s bought me a buyback when I’ve had a few.

You’ll find 105-TEN located in Woodside Plaza, just a block or two off of 9A.  There is free parking but on busy nights the lot will get crowded.  There is some street parking when that happens as well as a shopping center acrooss the street where you can park as well.
