The Dugout – Ossining

Ossining doesn’t have a ton of nightlife options, but right to the left of the public library is “The Dugout NY.”  A local sports bar with a great bar menu and some kick-ass wing flavors!

The Dugout NY in Ossining is a pretty nondescript sports bar on Croton Ave.  There are three medium-sized screens for the games, so even that is somewhat lacking.  This is a sports bar though.  It’s the middle of February, and they still have their giant Superbowl pool chalkboard up on the wall. It’s very neat and almost a work of art.  Why the hell didn’t I get a picture of it?? sorry.

The bar is rounded and wooden and actually kind of neat.  There’s probably room for 15 or so, comfortable.

The menu is on a single double-sided folded sheet.  There is plenty to choose from but we’re primarily talking about the usual American bar food as well as some Mexican options such as tacos and quesadillas. Check out that list of burger options!

There is a pretty significant selection of bottled beer but the draught selection is limited.  There was Bud, Bud Light, and Goose Island.  I knew I would be having some wings and wanted something on the lighter side so went with the Draft Bud which was fine.  Don’t judge.  I was just in the mood.  It was a good call for $$ reasons though.  More on that in a few.

The wing flavor selection is great.  Some really tasty options!

I opted for the Spicy Honey BBQ and Jalapeno.  A good call.  The Jalapeno was definitely on the hotter side (as noted on the menu) while the honey BBQ had only a little bite and was a good balance to the spicy Jalapeno.

They were beautiful!  And delicious!

There was a party going on and it’s worth mentioning, they have a decent-sized party room.  Parking is a bit of an issue.  There is street parking with meters but this is a busy area.  On a Saturday afternoon, finding a spot isn’t easy to do.

Oh yeah, the Budweiser.  $3.00 a pint!  Yup, a happy hour price is the regular price.  You can’t beat a $3 beer, anywhere.  I’ll have to go back just to have some variety and check out the prices.

I’ve been before and have had some other bar food and sandwiches and it’s all good.  But do yourself a favor and try some wings and have a Bud or two!
