The River Outpost Brewing Company
Great Beer and Great Fun!
Fun and games, Arcade, Live music and BEER. Great spot for the whole family!
The River Outpost Brewing Company has a great location, and it fits right in with the surroundings, which include the Hudson River, The Factoria, an event space, Fin and Brew restaurant, which I must get back to, and Spins Hudson, which bills itself as a “40,000-sq. ft. of intense adventure, including an aerial ropes course, a two-story laser tag arena, and more!” The River Outpost fits in with its games (pool, ping-pong, etc.), arcade, outdoor seating, concert stage, and brewpub!
My advice is to bring the whole family. Hook the kids up with the money to hang in the arcade and then have a couple of their brews. You’ll find that they have weekly wing specials and trivia nights also! Check their website for the event’s lineup.
I was just there and got some wings. They were pretty good, but like most places these days, they were a bit expensive.
Here’s the menu. So yeah, $17.50 for eight wings.
The beers shine here, for sure. River Outpost is a Captain Lawrence-owned property, and if you like the beer that Captain Lawrence crafts, why wouldn’t you? You’ll be happy here. There aren’t as many selections, but they are good. I had a golden Hind Belgian, which was kickin’ on an empty stomach. I would have had two, but I figured that wasn’t a good idea. For a second, I had the Cool Hands Lager. Both beers were excellent.
This isn’t the place for a quiet beer. The arcade isn’t on top of you at the bar, but it is loud. Kids. Are. Loud.
I’ve been here in the Summer as well. Last year, they had a battle of the bands in their outdoor area. They really packed it in all afternoon long.
Could you have a better setting for a battle of the bands with great beer and just a ton of fun…
If you’re up for some fun arcade games or other bar games, get to the River Outpost Brewing Company in Peekskill. Bring the kids and challenge them to some air hockey while you down one of those Belgians. Just let mom drive home!
