Wolf & Warrior Brewing Co. White Plains, NY

What do you get when you cross wolves, Spartan warriors and Star Wars?  The Wolf & Warrior Brewing Co. which is now on the list of my favorite brewpubs.

I visited on a Saturday afternoon.  The nicest day of the year so far.  It was beautiful out. That bought the crowd.  It was busy. At times 4 deep trying to fill up on their amazing selection of brews. Ambers, IPA’s, ciders, stouts, etc. 

I had three beers on my visit, the Irish Amber Ale, The Jagr Czech Pilsner and their signature Wolf of White Plains double IPA. All three beers were excellent!

Like I noted, the place was busy.  It was around 3:00 in the afternoon and the White Plains trendy were all out, many seemed dressed to be out for the evening. On a beautiful day and night like that, walking around the Mamaroneck Ave. area is great.

The Wolf and the Warrior is spacious but I’m thinking they could use a longer bar and probably a little more help behind it.  The two that were tending the bar were working hard but demand was just very high.  

There is also a beer garden and a downstair area.  Great spots for parties or for bringing a crowd for happy hour.

There is a decent pub menu (that I forgot to take a picture of!) and I got the wings which curiously are not on the online menu.  The wings were very good. Nothing too notable but the size, flavor and taste was good.  I got Buffalo and they were pretty spicy.

What escapes me about the place is the combination of wolves, warriors and Star Wars.  Check out Boba Fett clutching some hops here.  I figure him for an IPA kind of guy

I didn’t see R2-D2, but C-3P0 was hanging out.  He’s a fine Irish bloke.

They also have some events like Bingo and Ladies Night.  It’s definitely a space worth of some live music.  I wouldn’t be surprised if they book some small local artists in the future.

If you’re lucky, you may even get to experience Drag Queen Bingo!

If you’re into good beer, I highly recommend The Wolf and The Warrior.  Be prepared for a crowd on busy days. Hopefully I’ll bump into you!
