Yonkers Brewing Company, Yonkers, NY

Yonkers, the City of Seven Hills, also is home to the Yonkers Brewing Company.  I’ve been meaning to get here for a while and I’m glad I finally did.  It’s all about the beer here.  They make some quality brews which you can find in cans throughout Westchester.  I took some home with me on that visit.  More on that later.

Yonkers Brewing Co. is located near the Hudson River not far off from Riverside Drive. It can be a tough area to find parking so be cognizant of that.

On my visit, I was greeted by Edwin who was about the friendliest bartender I’ve come across.  My second beer was on him because I had to wait a minute while someone was working on the tap system.  I didn’t even notice but happily took my beer on the house!

I have had the Yonkers “914” in cans before but this was the first time on tap.  This is a great Vienna style lager which is a favorite style of mine.  The can says,

Yonkers Brewing presents our first love, our Vienna Lager.  The 914 lager has a toasty maltiness and subtle hints of noble hop aroma.  Our commitment to family and hometown can be found in every sip.  So drink responsibly and Enjoy!

This is a really good beer.  Have one.  You’ll be happy you did.

I had some “honey hot” wings while I was there.  Happy hour had them at 75 cents a wing.  How could I resist?

The wings weren’t especially meaty, but they were very crispy if that’s your thing.  I like all types. ;-)

If you zoomed in on that last page, you’ll see the “GBGH Burger.”  A 24 ounce burger for almost $40 and if you finish it in 9:40, the burger is free.  I love a challenge.  I didn’t do it this day but I can’t tell you how intrigued I am.  Maybe one day.  If you do it, you have to let me know!
