Pelham

Pelham, NY is a vibrant town with a rich history dating back to 1654 when Thomas Pell bought the area from the Siwanoy Indians. The town was named “Pelham” in honor of Pell’s tutor, Pelham Burton. It was initially incorporated as part of the Bronx in 1788, encompassing City Island and the present-day Pelham Bay Park east of the Hutchinson River​1​. Today, Pelham is a lively commuter town approximately 28 minutes from Grand Central Terminal via the Metro-North Railroad’s New Haven Line, home to many New York City commuters. The town boasts an active social community for its residents​2​.

Social Experience and Nightlife: The social scene in Pelham is described as active with various venues offering a vibrant nightlife experience. It has a smaller population compared to Pelham, with about 5,500 residents residing in an area of 1.2 square miles, providing a quaint, small-village atmosphere with easy access to mid-town Manhattan and major transportation hubs7​. In terms of dining and nightlife, Pelham Manor has establishments like Dave & Buster’s which offers a mix of arcade games, sports bars, and traditional American cuisine​​. Pelham Manor also has a variety of restaurants, bars, and cafes as listed on Tripadvisor, indicating a rich dining scene​9​​10​.

In summary, both Pelham and Pelham Manor offer a rich social experience, each with its own unique flair. That’s great and all, but I grew up in Pelham.  The North Rules!  The Manor folk all come over to the North when it comes to hanging out at the local pub.  We know how to have fun!
