Green Growler in Croton, NY

Croton On The Hudson is best known for the huge Metro North station and parking lot.  I know I’ll get some crap for that, but really…

Oh, there’s the big pumpkin thing that happens in the fall.  Oh and the big park on the Hudson River.  Alright, maybe Croton has some cool stuff.  

So as you probably visit the parking lot regularly, you know about The Green Growler which is right on the access road to get to the station.

The Green Growler is a craft beer store featuring 10 or so craft beers on tap as well as the occasional cider:

The selection gets better though with what’s available in the large refrigerators they have:.

Myself, I took home a couple of Duncans Abbey selections.  If you haven’t tried them, you should.  Really.

Other than the short bar, there is a seating area where they have occasional events and small music performers.  Cafe bands and painting events.

A couple of the great highlights of the Green Growler:

Next is the bathroom wall.  You gotta love a place that doesn’t clean the toilet graffiti:

The bathroom is nice and clean though and the grafiti is pretty entertaining.

What more can I say.  There’s a relaxing atmosphere, a great beer selection and the occasional event.  This is a craft beer place.  If you’re into mixed drinks you’ll need to go elsewhere.  If you like a great selection of beer, The Green Growler is for you.  It may not be Spunky McDoogle’s but it’s a great spot to chill with great beer.

UPDATE!

On a short visit yesterday I noted there was a new food menu on the bar.  I didn’t get anything but I will return and sample something and report back again.
