Prohibition River – Yes I Know It’s Not Westchester!

It’s really close though so it kinda counts.

It was a good ole road trip coming back from destinations West that brought me passing Nyac on the way to the Tappan Zee and it was dinner time so that’s kind of my excuse to take my tax dollars out of my favorite county.  I have to say though they do an nice job west of the Hudson.

Prohibition River is a great pub with a real nice looking bar right in the hub-bub of Nyac.

The wife and I settled in for some pubgrub.  Service was attentive.  Place was not so busy for a Sunday at 7. There were a few at the bar I’d assume were regulars because of their banter with the bartender.

The menu had most of the usual fair with some exceptions.

My wife got the French Dip:

I got the Prohibition Burger with onion jam and beer cheese.  Like there was any other option?  It was pretty excellent. Good hand-cut fries as well:

The had a decent amount of beer options which was definitely to my liking.  You can see the list on the menu above.

They also had a wine & cocktails list that I essentially ignored and the wife wasn’t in the mood.  You’re welcome to look at it!

Alright, so if you’re passing through Nyac on the way home in good old Westchester, take a break at the Prohibition River.  It’s pretty damn good.
