Mahopac

Mahopac, also known as Lake Mahopac is just about 50 miles north of NY City and is in Putnam County.  Yes, Putnam.  It just borders Westchester and some of the bars are within walking distance of Somers so cut me some slack.

Mahopack has a bunch of great restaurants and bars and a marina on Lake Mahopac with some decent places to catch a bit.

Oh and if you pronounce it with emphasis on the second syllable, you’ll win over the locals.
