White Plains
The city of White Plains was founded in 1683 and is famous for several important historical events. Such as the first reading of the Declaration of Independence in NY state just days after it was ratified. White Plains also hosted a losing battle against the British. Led by George Washington in October of 1776, the British defeated the Americans, but our primary goal was satisfied that day. Our troops halted the British army in its tracks and kept them from advancing further into NY at that time.
White Plains is located just about 25 miles north of NY City. You can get to it in just about any way you need. Train, plane, major highways, busses, etc.
The Bars of White Plains
What we’re really interested in, though, is the bar scene! You can’t deny that Mamaroneck Ave. in White Plains has some of the most popular bars in all of Westchester. The crowd is more than just local, as these venues have a lot to offer. There are sports bars, breweries, dart leagues, games, and great food at these locations, and Mamaroneck Ave. is a great area if you just want to bar crawl all night.
Outside of the area, there are plenty of other great bars to try, and you should try them. I will be!
